Bunting-a-thon

Well now I know what drawing, cutting and sewing 576 little flags feels like. It’s best to have a big stash of choccie handy and lots of little minions to help with the really fun jobs like ironing 54 metres of bias binding tape. Thanks Mum! Now whenever she pops her head into the ‘production line’ room she says “I’m just popping in to say hi, I don’t want to iron anything else”.

This little sweatshop churned out in the wee hours a whole stack of bright and beautiful bunting, ‘Florence loves Bunting’, named after the lovely and talented Florence Welch after I heard her interviewed on Triple J where she kept raving about bunting. Her music keeps me sewing. We also whipped up a bunch of ‘Myflet’ and ‘Burton’ softie toy owl friends, now in stock at Made By Others, Argyle St, Moss Vale. Thanks Zoe for stuffing them! It’s a joint effort here whether they like it or not :) I asked her what she wanted to do next after stuffing 12 owls. She said “Put a ‘help wanted’ sign in the window”. Brave Dad later stuck his head in to snap a few piccies, “Quick, Kate, try and look like you’ve been sewing for 50 hours straight”. “Oh wait, actually, just look up”.

Only 5 more custom bunting orders to go :)

Sew little time

It’s raining right now which makes it easy (and excusable) to stay inside and sew the day away. The weather report (should I choose to believe it) says it’ll be lovely and sunny this weekend, just in time for our debut at the Berry Markets this Sunday 6th Nov (9am – 2pm).

Adding to our smart stock of cushions, baby gifts, little birdy’s, stockings and cards is our new range of Bunting – these pretty flag garlands are perfect for decorating inside and out. For big and little kids, Digby the Platypus is our newest softie/plushie toy friend and for the ladies beautiful cotton Scarves made from vintage fabrics and trims.

It’s going to be a cracking day. Can you tell I’m just a little excited?
